1st Annual Culture Night

Why Is Cultural Respect Important?
Cultural respect is critical to reducing health disparities. It helps improve access to high-quality health care that is respectful of and responsive to the needs of diverse patients. When developed and implemented as a framework, cultural respect enables systems, agencies, and groups of professionals to function effectively to understand the needs of groups accessing health information and health care.

Celebrate identity with us!

We are excited to invite you to join us for Cultural Night on Friday, November 12, 2021, from 7-8 PM. This event will be a “potluck” style where everyone is encouraged to share anything pertaining to your ethnic background, holidays you celebrate, foods you eat, prevalent health conditions in your community, and much more. We believe that one of the most important qualities of future physicians is to deliver culturally competent care. This starts with actively seeking opportunities to listen and learn from the personal experiences of our peers.

If you identify as Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI), and are interested in presenting during Culture Night, please fill out the form below out with as much detail as possible. Please note that you are not required to present and this event is not restricted to only those that identify as AAPI! Anyone who is open to learning and listening is welcome.

We are looking forward to connecting with you!
